Canoe

Lyrics by Kat Edmonson

On such a night in June
Beneath a silver moon
They shared a boat for two
Canoe

Across a glassy lake
Their little boat did skate
And little sound they made at all

And for a little atmosphere the crickets serenaded
And a few indulging mosquitoes got quite inebriated

They paddled quietly under a canopy
Where no one else could see a thing

And as they started to express their mutual attraction
Many local residents were having a reaction
Yes, all the fervid fireflies were lighting their cabooses
And concerted Katydids, buzzing like the kazooses

They paddled quietly under a canopy
Where no one else could see a thing
On such a night in June, beneath a silver moon
They shared a boat for two
Canoe
